1. Pre-game verification is mandatory.

2. The White Hat will instruct both Head Coaches to gather all uniformed players and all sideline volunteers at their respective 40-yard lines. Tackle players must remove their helmets.

3. Failure to comply will result in a Class B Forfeit.

4. The White Hat will issue a single warning to both teams to limit communication to only what is necessary for the verification process.

5. Non-compliance with this requirement will result in the following penalties:

   • First offense – Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty

   • Second offense – Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty, and the individual responsible will be ejected

   • Third offense – Class B Forfeit

6. If both teams engage in disruptive behavior, Referees will declare a DOUBLE Class B Forfeit.

7. Referees will oversee the verification process and intervene as necessary.

8. If a team is found with at least (1) ineligible or illegal player or volunteer, the team will receive a Class B Forfeit.

9. If a game is forfeited due to violations during the pre-game verification, the Head Coach will be charged with a Level IV violation.

1. If a challenge is made, the White Hat will instruct the Head Coach of the challenged team to present the specified players and/or volunteers at the 50-yard line. Tackle players must remove their helmets. Players must be in full uniform to be challenged. All adults on the sideline are subject to verification, with the exception of TYFA personnel, venue staff, and authorized media.

• Having more volunteers than 10+2+2 is against the rules but it does not forfeit a game. 

• The amount of volunteers your opponent has should have been caught when you pre-game verified their rosters. 

• Either way, take a picture of their sideline and TYFA will discipline the head coach and potentially the organization. 

A Jersey will be deemed out of compliance for the following reasons unless a waiver from a TYFA Senior Executive Board Member has been granted and can be viewed on Active Waivers. Home / Away Jersey requirement is not enforced in Spring.

A player must be removed if their jersey is not compliant for any of the reasons below (1 to 6):

1. If a player’s jersey displays a number with a leading zero (e.g., 01, 02, 03...) other than (00) or displays a Roman Numeral.

2. If a player's jersey does not have a number front and back.

3. If a player's jersey has inappropriate words or advertisements on it.

4. If a player's jersey is not DARK while at home or WHITE while the visitor.

5. If a player's jersey is PINK if pink is not their standard color.

6. If a player's jersey in not fairly close to the same color as the rest of the team.

A player is not removed if their jersey is not compliant for any of the reasons below (1 to 4) but TYFA will fine the organization if reported with pictures:

1. If a player's jersey number are not Arabic.

2. If a player's jersey number are not contrasting.

3. If a player's jersey numbers are not 6-10" on the back and 6-8" on the front. 

4. If a player's jersey numbers are not centered on the front and back.

It is not a violation if every jersey does not have a name on it or some players have nicknames.

If the removal of a player reduces a team's on field minimum to less than (7 for Flag or 11 for Tackle), reference On Field Minimum Rule.

VOLUNTEER VIOLATIONS

1. If at any time during a game an opponent sees that their opponent's volunteers are out of dress code compliance, they can challenge. 

2. We are not going to reproduce the Dress Code here. 

3. The only thing that this challenge allows on game day is for the challenging team to take pictures of the opposing team and then submit them to TYFA who will review and discipline if there are truley dress code violations. 

4. The Referees will start the game after the pictures are taken.
