A Field Challenge must be done prior to any games being played on the field that day. This means the first game of the day. Once a single play has been run, this challenge can no longer be used.
A field must be:
Standard: 100 yards of playing surface plus 2x10-yard end zones / 53-yards wide or
Alternate: 80 yards of playing surface plus 2x10-yard end zones / 53-yards wide (regular season ONLY)
If the field size seems to be too small or too large, a head coach can approach the Referees prior to the first game of the day and challenge the field size. The chains can be used to measure.
If the field size is INCORRECT, the Referees will review the situation.
If the field is too small and there is enough room to increase the size or the field is too large, the Referees will give the host the Grace Period to fix the issue. If the grace period expires and the field is not fixed, the game will be declared a Class A Forfeit. The host now has until the start of the next game to fix the issue, or the next game is forfeit etc.
If the Referees and the Host agree that they will not be able to fix the issue, all remaining games will be forfeit and the situation must be reported to TYFA on the GSR.
A field must, at a minimum have the frame of the field, lines every 10 yards, and the end zones marked. Additionally, the field markings must be WHITE or YELLOW ONLY!
Field markings can only be challenged prior to the first game of the day. Once a single play has been run, this challenge can no longer be used unless it is raining.
If a field does not have the minimum markings prior to the first game of the day, the Referees will review the situation.
The Referees will give the host the Grace Period to get at least the minimum markings placed.
If rainfall is so heavy that field markings cannot be maintained, even after being reapplied, play cannot continue. If the lines cannot be restored in time for the next scheduled game, or cannot be restored at all, all games will be postponed and rescheduled. The field host is responsible for ensuring that field markings are applied using paint suitable for wet conditions and resistant to being washed away by rain. The use of chalk is not recommended, as it can be easily rubbed off or washed away during inclement weather.
A field must be free from ant piles, dangerous cracks, water sprinklers, rocks, glass etc. Any fixed objects such as concrete slabs should not be near the field.

The Referees will inform the host that they either provide the visitor with a locker room or they, the host, must stop using their locker room.
If there is only one available and they are found in the locker room at any point after that, the game will be declared a Class B Forfeit.
