TYFA does not enforce positional jersey number restrictions.
Offensive lineman aligned on the end of the line of scrimmage wearing 00, 0-49, or 80-89 are eligible.
Players wearing 50-79 or 90-99 must report eligibility to the Referees before the play.
Declaration is required each time a player changes positions.
Failure to declare results in Illegal Touching if the playr handles the ball.
Center sneaks are prohibited.
QB sneaks are legal at all tackle ages (7u, 9u, 11u and 13u).
Shotgun quarterbacks may run through any gap.
7u QBs under center cannot sneak through the A gap.
Violation of any of the prohibited items would result in an Illegal Procedure
The ball must be snapped from the ground. Side-saddle snaps are legal provided the center’s lead foot is not in front of the ball. If the center's foot is in front of the football it is penalized as Offsides.
7u Formation: Only (1) player must be on the LOS to either side of the center, and a formation may not have more than (4) players in the backfield. The offense must maintain an "A Gap" no wider than (1) foot between the center and the adjacent players.
9u, 11u and 13u formations follow NCAA rules.
Violations are penalized as Illegal Formation.
One (1) coach per team is permitted on the field. (7u Division only)
Coaches may instruct players until the snap.
Coaches shall retreat to (5) feet behind the back judge (Referee) before the snap.
Physical assistance after the snap is prohibited.
Violations result in Interference.
Field Coaches: Coaches are permitted to have (1) Water Bottle on the field, but it must be kept in pockets or bags.
A bottle on the field results in Illegal Equipment, while a bottle that trips an opponent result in Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
Recording: Handheld recording is prohibited; using any device (including tablets or phones) to record play results in Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
On Field Cameras: "On Field" coaches cannot have any type of recording device in their hands.
Reference Media and Communication Devices
Standard chains will be used for measurements - Down Box and Field Chains
If chains are dropped during measurement and placement is unclear, the play shall be replayed from a best-estimate original spot.
