Availability:
Spring (Postseason only)
Fall (All games)
Procedure: A coin toss determines possession or goal. Each team receives (1) timeout per OT period.
Scoring: Interceptions end the offensive series and cannot be returned. PATs are only attempted if needed to break a tie.
OT Periods:
1st and 2nd OT start from the 25-yard line.
Starting with the 3rd OT, teams alternate conversion attempts from the 5-yard line.
Flag (5u) can attempt a 1-point run or a 2-point forward pass.
If a regular season game is still tied after (3) OTs it will remain a tie.
If an OT game must be stopped for light or weather issues:
If the game is tied, the game will remain tied
If one team had an opportunity and scored, but the other team did not have a full opportunity, the game remains tied
TYFA will handle light and weather issues on a case-by-case basis during Spring Bowl and the Fall Playoff
Last Man: Can be awarded in OT. Reference Last Man Rule.
Minimum Players: If a team falls below (7) players during OT, reference On Field Minimum Rule.
