Tackle Football
Helmet visors must be clear and allow the player's eyes to be clearly visible.
Tinted, smoked, mirrored, reflective, or colored visors are prohibited.
No medical waiver or doctor's note permits a tinted helmet visor.
This standard is consistent with NCAA football rules and UIL guidance regarding tinted helmet visors.
Tinted or dark goggles and glasses may be worn, provided they can be safely and readily removed without removing the player's helmet.
Goggles and glasses must not interfere with the proper fit or function of the helmet or other required equipment.
Player Safety
Clear visors allow medical personnel to see a player's eyes when evaluating a potential head or neck injury without removing or manipulating the helmet.
TYFA requires CLEAR helmet visors for all players. No exceptions.
CLEAR means CLEAR!
