A Head Coach should checks these items before a game starts to avoid any issues during the game.

1. FIELD:  If you are the first game of the day you determine if the field will be used or not for the day.

   • Is the field 100 yards + 2x10 yard endzones and 53 yards wide? OR for non-playoff games, an alternate is allowed ---

     • • Is the field 80 yards + 2x10 yard endzones and 53 yards wide?

   • Is the field safe, meaning no ants, major cracks, rocks, things sticking up, or bleachers to close to field etc.?

   • Is the field marked correctly?  Frame, lines every 10 yards, endzones marked.

   • If any of these in your opinion is NO and you are the visitor, challenge the field with the Referees. As soon as 1 play is run, it is too late for the day.

2. SETUP:

   • Are the teams split, one team on each side of the field? This is required. If NO and you are the visitor, challenge!

   • Are the chains on the home side of the fields?  This is required. If NO and you are the visitor, challenge!

3. FOOTBALLS: Wilson Leather K2 Football is the only authorized football. In the Fall, it must have a TYFA logo on it. At any time during the game you determine the opponent has an unauthorized football, challenge!

4. FLAG BELTS: Triple-Threat is the only authorized flag belts. Standard colors, not customized, 12" minimum in length. At any time during the game you determine the opponent has an unauthorized flag belts, challenge!

5. SOFT-SHELL HELMETS: GameBreaker brand must be used. Any player going on to the field must have one. All helmets should match in color. If your opponent does not have soft-shell helmets or you believe there is some other violation, challenge!

6. PLAYERS: 

   • All players must be in the TYFA WebApp with no holds of any type. A minimum of 7 flag players to avoid a forfeit.

   • All players must be in Dress Code compliance.

     • • In Fall, the Home/Away jersey policy is in effect. Visitor must be in WHITE. If NOT, and you are the home team, challenge!

       • Jerseys must have policy compliant numbers. 

   • No players with casts.

   • Mouth pieces for all players on the field. 

   • Correct cleats, no towels and no hand-warmers.

   • No communication devices on players.

7. VOLUNTEERS: 

   • All volunteers must be in the TYFA WebApp with no holds of any type. A minimum of 2 volunteers to avoid a forfeit.

   • All volunteers must be in Dress Code compliance. If your opponent is out of compliance, challenge!

   • 10+2+2 sideline staff compliance. If your opponent has more, challenge!
